Civil

The Civil Division of the Columbiana County Prosecutor's Office is essentially the county's law firm. The Civil Division is comprised of four assistant prosecutors, who practice in the areas of child support enforcement, tax collection, child protection, and general civil law.

Assistant prosecutors in the civil division provide general legal counsel to all county agencies and elected officials in state or federal courts, as well as a variety of administrative settings. This division is also vested with the task of providing written legal opinions upon the request of any one of these clients. Additional representation both inside and outside the courtroom setting is performed in the areas of employment law, contract review and enforcement, tax recoupment, real property sale and/or purchase, and land use and zoning issues.

The Civil Division assumes a significant and proactive role in providing legal counsel regarding the implementation and enforcement of a wide variety of programs and policies administered throughout Columbiana County.
